Antique: The population of Antique province has reached 643,173 based on the 2024 Census of Population conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
According to Philippines News Agency, PSA Antique Provincial Head Randy Tacogdoy stated in an interview that the population increased by 30,199 or 1.16 percent when compared with the population of 612,974 in 2020. "Antique's population increased by 1.16 percent annually, on average, from 2020 to 2024," Tacogdoy said.
Antique recorded a 1.22 percent population growth rate in the 2010-2015 period, 1.10 percent in 2015-2020, and 1.13 percent in 2015-2024. The capital town of San Jose de Buenavista topped the five municipalities with the highest population, with 69,522 residents, followed by Sibalom with 67,155, Hamtic with 54,455, Culasi with 46,442, and Caluya with 42,895.
Among the municipalities with smaller populations are Belison, with 14,433, Libertad, with 18,685, and Sebaste, with 19,365. In terms of barangays, Semirara in Caluya has the largest population with 15,954, followed by Funda-Dalipe of San Jose de Buenavista with 7,110, and the Poblacion of Patnongon with 6,248.
Tacogdoy expressed gratitude for the cooperation shown by the people of Antique during the conduct of the Census, noting that the data can assist local chief executives in planning for social services and economic development for their municipalities and constituents. He added that the Community-Based Monitoring System conducted with the Census revealed other important data, such as the services accessible to the people and the peace and order situation in Antique.
