Antique: The Antique Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) has issued a public warning against the use of the boga, an improvised cannon, and other banned firecrackers following an injury incident involving a minor on December 23.

According to Philippines News Agency, the warning comes as the province reported just one firecracker-related injury over a span of six days. Irene Duldoco, the information officer for the Antique IPHO, highlighted the case of a 15-year-old who sustained forearm injuries but was discharged home after treatment. The incident underscores the need for parental vigilance, especially during festive seasons.

The Antique IPHO, alongside eight district hospitals, has been on Code White Alert since December 21, ensuring that all health facilities are prepared for emergencies. This recent injury in Culasi marks the only firecracker-related incident reported so far. In addition to safety warnings, the IPHO has urged the public to maintain a cautious approach to their diet during the holiday season.

The Code White Alert will remain in effect across hospitals in the province until January 6, 2026, as a precautionary measure to manage potential health emergencies during the holidays.
