Tarlac: The Philippine Army (PA) has confirmed the deaths of two trainee soldiers during a training activity at their Training Command (TRACOM) in Capas, Tarlac. An investigation is currently underway to uncover the cause of these fatalities.
According to Philippines News Agency, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that a comprehensive investigation has been ordered to establish the facts surrounding the incident. He urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims that could cause further distress to the families involved and assured that updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
The trainees were identified as members of the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) 806-2026. In his statement, Col. Dema-ala emphasized that the army is extending full support and assistance to the families during this challenging time, offering their deepest condolences.
Col. Dema-ala also highlighted that the safety and welfare of all personnel remain a top priority in all operations, including training activities. He emphasized that while training is demanding, it must be conducted within established safety standards. The PA is currently reviewing protocols and aims to enforce stricter measures where necessary to prevent such incidents in the future.
