Automated Parking System Launched at Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Manila: The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has launched an automated parking system at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), initially implementing the system at Terminal 3 on March 1, with plans to expand to Terminals 1 and 2 on March 14.

According to Philippines News Agency, the new system requires drivers to enter through unmanned entrances, where they receive an automated ticket. Upon exiting, a QR code-based system is used, which aims to reduce waiting times and improve traffic flow at the airport.

"This new parking system is part of NNIC's efforts to modernize NAIA and improve services for all airport users," stated the consortium led by San Miguel Corporation. Currently, the system accepts only cash payments, but starting March 14, it will accommodate multiple payment options, including GCash, PayMaya, debit, and credit cards.

By July, autopay stations will be operational across all terminals, further expediting transactions. In addition, real-time parking slot displays will be installed at Terminal 3 by April and at Terminals 1 and 2 by May, allowing drivers to check the availability of parking spaces before entering.
