Business establishments including two shopping malls here have renewed their safety seal certificates to manifest their continued compliance with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) minimum public health standards.

These include SM City Bacolod and Ayala Malls Capitol Central, based on the list of the city’s Safety Seal Committee chair Stela Rose Rayos released on Friday.

Issued for free to compliant business and public establishments, the certificate can be renewed every six months.

“Establishments awarded with the certificate are allowed an additional 10 percent onsite capacity beyond the prescribed capacity percentage,” Rayos said, citing Resolution 127-A of the national Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

On Friday, nine more establishments received their safety seal certificates from the city government, among these were schools, banks, restaurants, and private firms.

Rayos said the inspection and certification team conducts online verification, calibration, and on-site validation of the applicant establishments.

Only business establishments with valid mayor’s permits are eligible to apply for a certificate of safety seal, which is to be displayed conspicuously at all entrances of establishments.

The Safety Seal Certification Program under the IATF-EID Resolution 87 aims to increase compliance by private or public entities with the minimum public health standards set by the government, and seeks to encourage the adoption and use of the Stay Safe.ph digital contract tracing application as well as increase consumer confidence as the government safely reopens the economy.
