Bacolod city: Now in its sixth year, the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival will celebrate anew this city's world-famous chicken dish on May 29 to 31. The food, culture, music, and entertainment events will be held in three venues --Manokan Country, Megaworld's The Upper East, and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
According to Philippines News Agency, the festival honors the famous chicken inasal, as well as the culture and spirit of the Bacolodnon community. The city government announced the celebration on Monday, emphasizing local pride and creativity.
The festival will commence on May 29 with the Grand Opening: The Taste of Chicken Inasal at Manokan Country at 11 a.m. Later that evening, the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival Awards 2026 will also take place at the same venue.
On May 30, The Upper East will host the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival Rotisserie Show and Festival Dance. The event will conclude on May 31 at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central with the Chicken Inasal Cook-off and the San Miguel Beer Pairing and Food Tasting 2026.
The city government encouraged the community to support the local food industry and celebrate Bacolod's heritage. In November 2022, the City Council passed an ordinance declaring chicken inasal as a cultural property of Bacolod.
