Bacolod Cops Seize PHP12M Worth of Shabu in Two-Day Operations

Bacolod: Anti-drug operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested three individuals in two successive buy-bust operations on Thursday and Friday, resulting in the seizure of PHP11.9 million worth of shabu. "These successful operations underscore BCPO's unwavering commitment to intensifying its anti-illegal drug campaign and ensuring a safer, more secure, and drug-free Bacolod City," BCPO Director Col. Eugene Rebadomia stated.

According to Philippines News Agency, the first operation occurred shortly after 11:40 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay Singcang-Airport, while the second took place around 1 a.m. on Friday in Barangay 12. During Friday's operation near Bredco Port at the Reclamation Area, a suspect known as 'Ernesto,' a 44-year-old resident of Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3, was apprehended after selling PHP70,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer. Authorities confiscated six knot-tied plastic bags containing 1,200 grams of shabu, valued at PHP8.16 million, from his possession.

Information from a confidential informant suggested Ernesto's involvement in the illegal drug trade within Barangays 3, 12, and 35 in Bacolod City. In a separate operation before midnight on Thursday, operatives from Police Station 8 apprehended suspects 'Joaquin' and 'Mark' at Jade Court 2 motel in Barangay Singcang-Airport. The suspects, both construction workers, were caught selling PHP50,000 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer. They were found in possession of six knot-tied bags containing 550 grams of shabu, with an estimated value of PHP3.74 million.

The police report indicated that validated intelligence information confirmed the suspects' active engagement in the sale of illegal drugs in Barangay Singcang-Airport and surrounding areas. The BCPO stated that all arrested individuals will face charges for violating Article 2, Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
