Bacolod: The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is actively pursuing new drug personalities following intensified operations that led to the recovery of PHP1.75-million worth of shabu in the past week. BCPO chief Col. Eugene Rebadomia announced in a press conference that there are no longer any active drug groups operating in the city, as declared by his predecessors.

According to Philippines News Agency, Col. Rebadomia emphasized that recent arrests indicate the emergence of new drug personalities, who are not residents of Bacolod, while the prominent drug figures of the past are no longer present. He has instructed the City Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Lt. Col. Albert Sy, to maintain the heightened operations against illegal drugs, highlighting the continued availability of drugs in the city despite recent recoveries.

Rebadomia expressed concern over the impact of unrecovered drugs on young people and stressed the importance of vigilance. After taking over as BCPO chief, he was directed by Mayor Greg Gasataya to prioritize the fight against illegal drugs, reflecting the mayor's concern over the issue.

Mayor Gasataya has pledged ongoing support to the city's police force, underscoring the significance of combating illegal drugs to prevent other unlawful activities in Bacolod.
