Agusan del Sur: The Department of Trade and Industry in Agusan del Sur (DTI-ADS) launched a one-day Diskwento Caravan: Balik Eskwela on Tuesday, coinciding with the weekly opening of the Kadiwa Market in San Francisco town.
According to Philippines News Agency, the caravan offered affordable school supplies, uniforms, and shoes to parents whose children are set to return to school next Monday, June 16. DTI-ADS Information Officer Niel John Dapat highlighted in an interview on Wednesday that four local entrepreneurs from San Francisco town participated in the Diskwento Caravan, providing a 20 percent discount on essential school items. The initiative, promoted through a social media campaign, saw parents flocking to the Kadiwa Market to take advantage of these limited-time offers.
The Kadiwa Market in San Francisco operates only on Tuesdays. Dapat mentioned that the DTI-ADS office is currently considering the possibility of continuing the Diskwento Caravan next week, as there has been significant online interest from parents. He encouraged parents and consumers in Agusan del Sur to consult the DTI price guide for school supplies, uniforms, and shoes.
