Batac: The City Treasurer's Office here has reminded property owners to avail of the 20-percent early payment discount for real property tax for 2026. In a public advisory posted on social media, the office announced that the last day to avail of the discount will be on Dec. 29.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Office of the City Treasurer has affirmed its commitment to remain open on Dec. 29, 2025, despite the Memorandum Circular No. 111 that suspends work in government offices that day. This measure is to facilitate taxpayers who wish to take advantage of the early-bird discount.
Residents who aim to benefit from the discount are advised to bring their latest tax receipt and visit the Assessor's Office for validation before proceeding to the Office of the City Treasurer to make their payment. Additionally, to mitigate the holiday rush, an online payment option is available via the LandBank Link.BizPortal platform.
Mayor Mark Christian Chua emphasized that the early-bird discount serves as a "reward to those who fully pay their real estate taxes in advance." The real property tax, which applies to lands, buildings, and machinery, is calculated based on a percentage of the property's assessed value and can be paid annually or quarterly.
For those who meet the Dec. 29 deadline, a 20-percent discount is offered. There is also an incentive for prompt payment in early January, with a 10-percent discount available for early birds who miss the December deadline.
