Batangas: The provincial government tapped the motorcycle community to promote several rider-tourist destinations and highlight the province's natural beauty, rich culture, and hospitality. In an interview with the Philippine News Agency on Sunday, Governor Hermilando Mandanas said the Batangas Loop promoted the province's scenic destinations and environmental preservation. Some 1,000 motorcycle enthusiasts joined the weekend ride.
According to Philippines News Agency, Governor Mandanas emphasized the pride in Batangas' numerous tourist attractions and the warm hospitality of the Batangue±os. The event highlighted must-visit spots along the route, including the National Shrine of Padre Pio in Santo Tomas City and Taal Basilica, the largest church in the Philippines and Asia. Tourists were also encouraged to visit the Verde Island Passage, renowned as the world's 'center of the center' of marine shore fish biodiversity, and Montemaria, the site of the Mother of All Asia-Tower of Peace, which holds the distinction of being the tallest statue of the Virgin Mary globally.
Local businesses reaped benefits from the event as well, with small enterprises selling local delicacies such as lomi, native Barako coffee, and balisong. Reggie Cruz, the acting tourism officer of Cuenca, expressed gratitude for the event's positive impact on the town's reputation. Cuenca is known as the 'Home of the Bakers,' and the event allowed tourists to enjoy stunning views of Mt. Maculot and Taal Lake while sampling the town's renowned bakery products.
To ensure safety, checkpoints and security teams were strategically deployed along the route, contributing to a seamless and secure experience for participants and visitors alike.
