Bicol: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 in Bicol has launched a digital complaint platform to make police services more accessible and efficient for residents across the region. The KASUROG @ e-Reklamo platform was launched here on Tuesday, enabling the public to file complaints and report incidents without needing to visit a police station in person.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda said the program aims to bring police services closer to communities while addressing long-standing concerns about accessibility and time-consuming complaint procedures. "Today, we take a major step toward providing quality service to the Bicolanos," Miranda said in his speech during the launch.

He noted that the platform addresses common concerns raised by the public about the inconvenience of repeatedly visiting police stations to file complaints. "In the past, filing a complaint at the police station was time-consuming, often disrupting work and personal schedules. Now, with the online platform, residents can submit complaints conveniently using their mobile phones or computers at any time they choose," Miranda added.

The system is designed to provide round-the-clock access for users who want to report crimes, irregularities, or other concerns. To use the platform, citizens only need to visit the KASUROG website or its official social media pages and access the online complaint form. Once the form is completed, complainants can provide incident details and attach supporting documents like photos or videos.

Police personnel then review the submitted information before forwarding the complaint to the appropriate unit or investigator. Miranda highlighted that the initiative is designed to help residents in remote or island communities who may have difficulty traveling to police stations. Under the system, complainants may need to appear in person only once, typically to file sworn statements with the prosecutor's office.

He also mentioned that the platform includes safeguards to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data privacy rules, especially for cases involving minors and sexual offenses.
