Romblon: With 92 persons deprived of liberty (PDL) under its safekeeping, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Romblon District Jail, in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Romblon, conducted a Greyhound Operation on Tuesday to ensure the facility remains free of contraband. The K9-assisted inspection focused on detecting illegal drugs and other prohibited items inside the jail premises. A PCG-trained dog was deployed during the sweep. Authorities said the operation yielded negative results.
According to Philippines News Agency, BJMP-Mimaropa regional information officer Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo stated that the activity highlights the agency's commitment to maintaining order and security in its facilities. "Every Greyhound Operation is a step toward a safer and more secure jail environment. By working with our partners, we make sure that the facility remains free of contraband and conducive to genuine reformation," he said.
The BJMP conducts Greyhound Operations regularly in partnership with other law enforcement agencies as part of its campaign to strengthen jail security and protect the welfare of PDL and personnel.
