Manila:The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Manila has generated nearly PHP23 million from the auction of a luxury vehicle confiscated last year. A 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan was sold for PHP22.95 million during a public auction held on October 30.
According to Philippines News Agency, the vehicle was among several motor vehicles seized in 2025 in Pasay City due to suspicions of unlawful importation. Verification revealed no records in the Customs Processing Database, prompting legal action under Section 1113 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
The BOC has reported collecting a total of PHP146.677 million from public auctions between January and September, with PHP115.889 million contributed by the Port of Manila alone. Auction proceeds are directed to the Bureau of the Treasury to support government programs and services benefiting the public.
This initiative is part of the BOC’s strategy to convert confiscated goods into government funds through a transparent process. Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized that successful auctions benefit public treasury and support programs for the public good.
