BPI and Gogolook Collaborate to Combat Rising Digital Scams

Manila: Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) has teamed up with Gogolook to strengthen its mobile banking ecosystem and provide its clients advanced and reliable protection against digital scams and fraud. In a statement Wednesday, BPI said that under the collaboration, qualified customers get 12 months of free access to the Whoscall Premium Basic anti-scam app.

According to Philippines News Agency, this benefit allows users to easily block spam and scam calls, identify unknown callers, and filter suspicious messages to keep their accounts secure. Alma Aldip, Head of Unsecured Lending and Cards - Product and Sales at BPI, emphasized the importance of awareness and protection in combating sophisticated scams. Aldip stated that the partnership enables BPI to equip clients with tools and knowledge to stay ahead of fraud, while also encouraging vigilance in financial transactions.

Gogolook expressed that technology and global expertise can protect Filipino consumers. Manalo Joo, Gogolook Global Chief Operations Officer, highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing localized and sophisticated scam tactics. The partnership with BPI allows Gogolook to extend its global expertise in digital risk detection to more Filipinos, empowering them with tools like Whoscall.

Aldip reminded customers that Whoscall is a third-party app, with features and performance managed by the provider, not BPI. Customers are urged to contact the 24-hour BPI Contact Center or the domestic toll-free number if they receive any suspicious communications claiming to be from the bank.
