Manila: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Thursday issued a warning to the public regarding fake online posts that exploit the names and images of notable government and business figures to endorse fraudulent investment schemes.

According to Philippines News Agency, the BSP's advisory comes in response to a circulating post that falsely claims central bank Governor Eli Remolona Jr. participated in an interview on ANC Headstart with financial coach Chinkee Tan. The BSP clarified that no such interview took place, and the image used in the post was generated using AI technology. The central bank emphasized that it does not offer any investment programs.

The BSP strongly urged the public to refrain from sharing the fake post and to exercise caution when encountering online content that misuses the name of the BSP and its officials. It further advised individuals to verify any suspicious messages or announcements through the BSP's official communication channels.
