MUNTINLUPA CITY: The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has instructed prison and penal farm superintendents to implement preventive measures following a stabbing incident at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) that resulted in the death of one inmate and injuries to two others. The incident, which occurred at the Maximum Security Camp, has prompted the agency to stress its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of both inmates and staff.
According to Philippines News Agency, the BuCor has decided to withhold the identities of those involved until their families have been notified. This decision underscores the agency's dedication to respecting the dignity and privacy of the families affected by the incident. The stabbing took place at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Thursday at Gate 1-A, Quadrant 4 of the NBP's Maximum Security Camp, as detailed in a report submitted by NBP Acting Superintendent Corrections Chief Inspector Roger Boncales.
