CAAP and BCDA Sign Agreement to Enhance Air Traffic Operations at Clark Airport

Manila: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced a new agreement with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) focused on improving the operation and maintenance of Clark International Airport's (CRK) Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) facilities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the memorandum of agreement was signed on Tuesday, marking a significant step in enhancing air traffic management at the airport. Under this agreement, CAAP will oversee the operation and maintenance of the CNS/ATM facilities to ensure the safe and efficient management of air traffic at CRK.

The CNS/ATM system allows aircraft to relay precise locations during takeoffs, landings, and while under air traffic control, thus playing a crucial role in aviation safety and efficiency. The BCDA, which owns these facilities, will cover the costs associated with procuring parts and maintaining ancillary equipment, as outlined by CAAP.

CAAP highlighted the benefits of the enhanced CNS/ATM system in a social media post, noting that passengers can anticipate smoother travel experiences and fewer flight delays as a result of these upgrades, ultimately leading to more time for important activities.
