Manila: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has confirmed that operations at Puerto Princesa International Airport remain normal and uninterrupted following the death of the airport's acting manager, Joanna Jonson-Infante. Despite the tragic event, CAAP assured that flight schedules, safety procedures, and essential airport services are ongoing without any disruption.

According to Philippines News Agency, Infante was tragically shot in the back on Bayview Road in Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City, on Wednesday. She was immediately taken to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The incident is currently under investigation, and CAAP has urged the public to avoid making assumptions or spreading unverified information about the case.

CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario visited the airport on Thursday to ensure that all operations continue smoothly. He pledged that the CAAP management will closely monitor the developments in this case, following directives from Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez. Del Rosario also stated that CAAP will extend assistance to Infante's family during this difficult time.

The CAAP is committed to working with authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and to achieve resolution and justice in the case of Infante's untimely death.
