Siargao: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Siargao Airport has debunked social media claims of a delayed response to a passenger who collapsed at the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB).
According to Philippines News Agency, the CAAP Siargao stated in an official statement on Monday afternoon that the allegations of personnel not responding for several minutes were inaccurate. The incident took place on November 29, when a passenger suddenly collapsed at the PTB, sustaining a head injury.
The statement further detailed that an assigned employee immediately assisted a person who had initially helped the injured passenger. The staff provided first-aid supplies, including those requested by the assisting nurse, and also aided in applying pressure and cleaning the wound of the distressed passenger.
The management emphasized that PTB staff have completed standard First Aid Training and assured the public that they would not neglect any passenger in distress. They reiterated their commitment to maintaining safety, preparedness, and compassionate service at all times.
CAAP Siargao expressed gratitude to the concerned individuals who extended help and appreciated the opportunity to clarify the matter.
