Cabadbaran City Authorities Pursue Charges Against Content Creators for Public Stunt

Manila: Two content creators in Cabadbaran City face charges of alarm and scandal following a public stunt that officials claim endangered public safety and tarnished the city's image.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Cabadbaran City Police Station disclosed in a statement released on Monday that the actions of these individuals disrupted traffic and disturbed residents and travelers alike.

On April 19, vloggers Johnreil Alibio and Elton Wen Lara executed a stunt in Barangay Mabini, where they placed a toilet bowl at a traffic light intersection, creating an immediate hazard. Alibio proceeded to sit naked on the toilet bowl while Lara filmed the incident for online content.

The video, subsequently posted and widely circulated on their social media page, 'CBR BOYS,' led to their arrest on Saturday evening, and criminal charges are now being prepared against both individuals. The Cabadbaran police highlighted significant concerns over the inappropriate and irresponsible use of social media, stressing that the stunt compromised public safety.

'We fully respect the right to freedom of expression and support the responsible use of social media platforms,' the police noted, urging content creators to exercise caution, respect the law, and adhere to regulations when producing and sharing online content.

Following the incident, the controversial video was removed from the vloggers' online page. In a recent post, Alibio and Lara issued an apology to netizens and the local government.
