Cablitas Secures Quarterfinal Berth in Philta National Tourney

Manila: Second seed Maria Astrid Cablitas secured a quarterfinal berth in the girls' U16 division after posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Antonette Ramona Orobia on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Malate. Cablitas will face the winner between sixth seed Claire Candace Alcala and Scarlet Kramer.

According to Philippines News Agency, in the girls' U14 division, Perri Drei Almeda downed Danelei Caday 3-6, 6-4 (10-6), Rafaeli Frances Gomez prevailed over Ayanna Lei Baldonade 1-6, 6-1 (12-10), and Winter Phoenix Santos outlasted Lauren Julia Pomer 6-0, 4-6 (13-11) in the first round. Almeda will compete against No. 8 Anica Gabriel Palacio, who, along with several top seeds, received a first-round bye.

Also advancing to the next round in the girls' U14 category are players such as Precious Valdez, Zopia Alexa Morales, Francesca Marquez, Maria Carolina Arvesu, Samuelle Barrera, Shane Martina Aludo, Arabela Maria Barandiaran, Madison Reese Hing, Megumi Tsoi, Martina Villa, and Beatrice Sicangco.

In the boys' divisions, Jomar Maranga triumphed over Ben Hur Raneses III with scores of 6-1, 7-6, while Lloyd Aedriel Carasco advanced after Zaijian Guanez withdrew, reaching the boys' U18 second round in the Grand Slam-category event supported by Tecnifibre and the Philippine Sports Commission. Joaquin De Guzman moved forward in the boys' U14 division by defeating Nathan Ilagan 1-6, 6-4 (10-4), setting up a match against No. 9 Juan Antonio Cablitas.

Other winners in the boys' category include Jose Eliseo Coronel, Yuan Kristoff Ringor, Mxander Johan Alcantara, Kurt Padua, Godfrey Buan II, Crispin Miranda, Anthony Camales, and Don Simplicio Bermejo.
