Calabarzon: Innovation, imagination, and industry came together as the 3rd Regional Robotics Tournament of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) officially opened on Friday. The event kicked off with a two-day Industry Robotics Solution Challenge Boot Camp at Guerrero Hall, Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).

According to Philippines News Agency, the boot camp, which runs from July 31 to August 1, sets the tone for this year's Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Calabarzon. Harley Margallo, Information Officer of the DOST-Calabarzon's Public Affairs, Relations, and Communications Unit (PARCU), stated in a phone interview that the agency, through its Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) - Laguna, gathered top young minds from across the region to tackle real-world problems under the theme: "Solve it with Robots."

"This is more than just a competition. It's about turning your curiosity into creativity, and your ideas into solutions," Margallo said, sharing the message of Regional Director Emelita Bagsit to the participants. Guided by their mentors and fueled by their passion, students began transforming concepts into functional solutions, demonstrating how robotics can be harnessed to address industry needs.
