Butuan city: A series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted in various provinces across the Caraga Region in November led to the confiscation of 1,003.4 grams of shabu and 34.4 grams of marijuana, with a combined value exceeding PHP6.8 million. In these operations, 117 suspects were apprehended.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Police Regional Office (PRO-13) in the Caraga Region announced that among the arrested individuals, 30 were identified as high-value individuals (HVIs), while 87 were classified as street-level individuals (SLIs).
One of the most significant operations occurred on November 29 in Butuan City, resulting in the arrest of drug suspects known as Alias Tope, 42, an HVI, and Alias Jim, 52, an SLI. The operation led to the seizure of 700 grams of shabu valued at PHP4.7 million, 20 grams of marijuana worth PHP2,400, a .45-caliber pistol with ammunition, and disassembled parts of a 9mm pistol with live ammunition.
PRO-13 chief Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV praised the efforts of the various stations, units, and provincial offices involved in last month's successful anti-illegal drug operations. Magistrado emphasized the importance of community support and cooperation, urging every Caraganon to remain vigilant and collaborate in efforts to establish safer, drug-free communities for their families.
