The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) called on the public Friday to assist in their investigation as they move to identify more persons of interest (POIs) behind the killing of an Israeli national here.

In a statement, Police Col. Aaron Mandia, acting COCPO chief, said pursuit operations were being conducted on several persons believed involved in the death of Reuven Branovitch based on initial accounts from witnesses.

“The office of the CCPO director is appealing to the public to give information relative to the incident for the swift solving of the case,” Mandia said.

COCPO said concerned citizens may contact 09177713663 if they have any information leading to the resolution of the case.

Based on initial police findings, a gunman shot Branovitch five times outside his apartment along the corner of 11th and 20th Streets in Barangay Nazareth around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the gunman escaped on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.

Investigators found empty shells from a .45-caliber pistol at the crime scene.
