CDO Unveils Mobile Learning Facility for Barangays

Manila: The city government launched the 'Gulong ng Karunungan,' or 'Learning Facility on Wheels,' program for the city's 80 barangays on Monday. The mobile learning facility is designed to be rolled out in various barangays every Saturday as part of the Kuyug sa Serbisyo sa Baryo initiative, including People's Day in Barangay Macasandig on Monday for its launch.

According to Philippines News Agency, the facility will also be available every Tuesday and Thursday through 'SurUY-SurUY sa Baryo.' The learning facility on wheels was donated by the PhilSeven Foundation Inc., the social arm of Philippine Seven Corporation, which operates 7-Eleven stores in the Philippines. The operations will be supervised by the City Social Welfare and Development Department, through its Early Childhood Care and Development Division.

Also on Monday, during the People's Day in Barangay Macasandig, Mayor Rolando Uy personally attended to 2,214 recipient-residents, while city officials addressed various social service requests and other concerns. "We intend to bring the basic services of the local government closer to the people," he said.
