Manila: Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) has canceled a total of 51 flights on Tuesday due to the forecasted impact of heavy rains and flooding. The affected flights involve various domestic and international routes, causing disruption for many travelers.
According to Philippines News Agency, the cancellations include several flights scheduled for the early morning and afternoon. Early morning cancellations comprised flights such as DG 6118 from Naga to Manila, 5J 323/324 from Manila to Legazpi and back, and 5J 391/392 from Manila to Cagayan De Oro and return. Other affected routes included Manila to Iloilo, Bacolod, Tuguegarao, Cebu, Tacloban, Hanoi, Caticlan, General Santos, and Davao, among others.
In the afternoon, additional flights were canceled. These include DG 6502 from Cebu to Manila, 5J 308/309 from Manila to Guangzhou and return, and 5J 331/332 from Manila to Kalibo and back. Other routes affected in the afternoon included those to Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, Zamboanga, and Davao, causing significant inconvenience to travelers.
Cebu Pacific announced that affected passengers could avail of free rebooking without fare difference for travel up to 30 days from the original flight date. Passengers could also choose to refund their tickets or store the amount in a virtual CEB wallet, according to the airline's statement.
