Cebu Pacific Passenger Traffic Increases by 21.7% in May

Manila: Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) reported a significant increase in passenger traffic, reaching 2.4 million in May, marking a 21.7 percent rise compared to the same period last year. Both domestic and international passenger numbers grew, with domestic traffic up by 19.19 percent and international passengers experiencing a 27.5 percent increase. The seat load factor for May was recorded at 86.4 percent, slightly higher than May 2024's 86.2 percent.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Gokongwei-led airline revealed that its year-to-date passenger count had climbed to 11.7 million, a 23.7 percent increase from 9.4 million in the same timeframe the previous year. The seat load factor for the year averaged 85 percent.

CEB's chief executive officer, Mike Szucs, stated, "Passenger traffic continued to see high year-on-year growth through the first five months of 2025. Seat load factor is tracking ahead of last year reflecting robust air travel as additional capacity continues to be absorbed by demand." He further noted the airline's strategy of aligning capacity with demand while addressing the engine and supply chain challenges facing the industry.
