Central Luzon Police Seize P27-Million in Narcotics and Arrest 675 in Major Crackdown

Central luzon: The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO 3) has confiscated over PHP27 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 675 drug personalities in the first 23 days of Regional Director Brig. Gen. Rogelio Pe±ones Jr.

According to Philippines News Agency, under Pe±ones' leadership, police units across the region have conducted 432 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the seizure of over PHP27.2 million - including PHP23.8 million worth of shabu and PHP3.4 million worth of marijuana. Pe±ones emphasized that these accomplishments are a result of focused and relentless operations, aiming to eliminate criminal activities in Central Luzon.

In addition to drug-related operations, the campaign against illegal firearms has also progressed, with 69 short firearms recovered. Among these, 34 were confiscated during operations, 27 were voluntarily surrendered, and 8 were formally deposited. A total of 33 individuals were arrested for firearm-related violations, showcasing a comprehensive effort to tackle crime from multiple angles.

Furthermore, the PRO 3 has intensified its manhunt operations, leading to the arrest of 580 wanted persons. This includes 459 individuals with outstanding warrants of arrest, 48 of the most wanted persons without rank, and 73 Top 10 most wanted persons at various jurisdictional levels.

In preparation for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. scheduled for July 28, 2025, Pe±ones has activated Sub Task Group Central Luzon as part of Task Force Manila Shield. This initiative will deploy 2,700 police personnel to ensure a safe and orderly event. Pe±ones assured that while law and order will be maintained, the rights of citizens to express their views freely will also be respected.

As President Marcos approaches the second half of his term with his fourth SONA, heightened security measures are anticipated across key areas. Pe±ones urged public cooperation with authorities and vigilance to ensure community safety during the event and beyond.
