Central Visayas Police Confiscate Over PHP244 Million in Illegal Drugs

Central Visayas: More than PHP244 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in anti-drug operations in Central Visayas for the first three months this year.

According to Philippines News Agency, a report released on Monday by the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) reveals that a total of 35,927.64 grams of shabu valued at PHP244,307,952.00 and marijuana worth PHP179,694 were confiscated from January 1 to March 12.

The operations resulted in the arrest of 1,922 drug suspects, including 124 identified as "high-value" individuals, across 1,688 operations. Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Director of PRO-7, emphasized the role of law enforcement personnel and public cooperation in achieving this feat. "This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and sacrifice of our law enforcement personnel and the continued support of the public," Maranan stated.
