MANILA: The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) notified the public Friday about the phaseout of five courses at St. Vincent De Ferrer College of Camarin (SVDFCC) in Caloocan. In a press release, CHED has posted notices on the college premises and across the city to directly inform the public that it is phasing out five college programs of SVDFCC due to 'deficiencies in their academic performance and achievement found after thorough evaluation and validation'. CHED Chairperson J. Prospero E. De Vera III said they decided to take action against the college after it refused to comply with the phaseout order issued in 2021. The college, he said, continued to accept enrollees despite the order. 'The public is informed that the following programs offered by St. Vincent De Ferrer College of Camarin (SVDFCC) were ordered to be phased out by the Commission on 19 October 2021: Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Secondary Education,' the public notice read. De Vera said SVDFCC is no longer included in the list of higher education institutions authorized to offer the said degree programs. With this, the college has been prohibited from accepting students for enrollment in the abovementioned programs beginning the first term of the Academic Year (AY) 2022 -2023. CHED has urged students who have enrolled at SVDFCC under the phaseout courses to seek guidance from the commission.
