Manila: The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC): recognized the public's concerns over a potential ban against Roblox and assured that the gaming platform is strictly being monitored to ensure its security and avoid getting banned in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, CICC Communications Head Aya Macalma stated that the CICC's Cybercrime Complaint Center (C3) has received and responded to over 30 emails, 20 Facebook messages, and one minor user who expressed concerns about Roblox potentially being blocked in the country. Many of these Roblox users, including Filipino game developers, are advocating for the platform to remain accessible.

The CICC has confirmed that Roblox has committed to adjusting its in-game safety measures in compliance with requests from the CICC and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). They emphasized that public sentiment is being acknowledged and taken into account. Roblox not only serves as a source of livelihood for Filipino developers but also acts as an educational platform for the youth.

The CICC is committed to strict monitoring of Roblox to prevent issues, particularly related to online sexual abuse or exploitation of children. They stressed that the safety of even a single child is enough reason for government intervention. Additionally, the CICC urged parents and guardians to maintain open communication with their children and foster a supportive environment for responsible decision-making online.

The public is encouraged to reach out to the CICC through Hotline 1326 or via its official social media pages to report concerns or violations. The CICC and DICT have placed Roblox under a three-month probation period to ensure compliance with government requirements. Roblox has also provided the CICC and the Philippine National Police with a 'green lane' for prompt responses to public concerns and inquiries.
