Manila: The government's relentless campaign against all forms of criminality has resulted in the arrest of 1,064 individuals and the confiscation of PHP170 million worth of evidence in May, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, CIDG office-in-charge Col. Ranie Hacuela reported that among those arrested are 16 foreign nationals, one national most wanted person with a reward, 105 regional most wanted persons, 83 provincial most wanted persons, and six members of criminal gangs and communist groups.
Law enforcers gathered 99 loose firearms, 41 explosives, 732 assorted magazines, 1,064 rounds of assorted ammunition, and seized PHP170.7 million worth of evidence in 937 operations in May.
Hacuela stated that 158 criminal complaints have been filed before the National Prosecution Service. He commended the CIDG team for their achievements, emphasizing the group's commitment to combating criminality and conducting aggressive operations against loose firearms and fugitives.
Hacuela affirmed that the CIDG will continue its fight against all forms of criminality and remain steadfast in enforcing the laws without fear or favor.
