Cignal, Criss Cross Aim for Third Title Clash in Spikers’ Turf Open Conference

Manila: Cignal and Criss Cross seek another title duel when they face separate rivals in the Spikers' Turf Open Conference semifinals at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday. The HD Spikers and the King Crunchers need one more win to reach the finals for the third time.

According to Philippines News Agency, Cignal faces Savouge at 6 p.m. while Criss Cross and VNS-Laticrete square off at 3:30 p.m. Key players Louie Ramirez, Wendel Miguel, Steven Rotter, John Mark Ronquillo and skipper John Paul Bugaoan are expected to lead the HD Spikers, who recently achieved a 25-13, 25-16, 25-16 victory over the VNS Laticrete Griffins.

The Spin Doctors, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from their 22-25, 18-25, 18-25 loss to the King Crunchers. Cignal head coach Dexter Clamor expressed confidence in his team's morale and preparation, noting the importance of rest before their match against Savouge.

The Spin Doctors will depend on Mark Calado, Shawie Caritativo, and Madz Gampong to keep their finals aspirations alive. Meanwhile, Criss Cross will rely on MVP Jude Garcia, Jaron Requinton, Nico Almendras, and Marck Espejo to extend their 12-game winning streak. Garcia emphasized the need to match the efforts of their opponents, VNS, led by skipper Charles Jordan Segui, Kenneth Culabat, and Rash Nursiddik.
