Manila: The Clark International Airport has welcomed Shandong Airlines' cargo services. "The additional route between Shenzhen and Clark boosts cargo connectivity between the Philippines and China," airport operator Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD) said in a social media post on Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, this development supports LIPAD's vision of transforming Clark Airport into a premier logistics hub in the region. The consortium highlighted its ongoing efforts to position the Clark Civil Aviation Complex as a globally competitive logistics center in Southeast Asia.
In addition to Shandong Airlines, Clark Airport is home to other air freight operators such as UPS and FedEx. Shandong Airlines, a subsidiary of Air China, is headquartered in Jinan, further expanding its reach in the region.
Other cargo carriers that operate via Clark Airport include Tianjin Air Cargo, Jiangsu Jingdong Cargo Airlines, China Postal Airlines, Central Airlines, and Skyway Airlines.
