Manila: Metro Manila and most of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms on Sunday due to localized thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said. According to Philippines News Agency, in its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that easterlies will continue to affect Extreme Northern Luzon. This will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina indicated that the southwest monsoon remains weak today and is expected to continue weak over the next few days. Although no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA advises the public to stay alert for sudden heavy rains and thunderstorms, especially in areas susceptible to flooding and landslides. In Extreme Northern Luzon, winds will be light to moderate, blowing fro m the northeast to east, with coastal waters anticipated to be slight to moderate, ranging from 1.2 to 2.1 meters. For the rest of the country, light to moderate winds will prevail from northeast to northwest, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate at 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
