COC Filing for Bangsamoro District Representatives Elections Set to Begin

Manila: The filing period for Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for the District Representatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections is scheduled to start on Tuesday, as announced by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday. This filing period will continue until May 7, allowing individuals aiming for election as District Representatives to submit their COCs.

According to Philippines News Agency, candidates are required to lodge their respective COCs at the designated offices of the poll body in their area, with submissions being accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to COC submissions, Comelec will also accept a consolidated list of nominees by coalitions during this time frame.

The poll body has issued a reminder to the public about the deadline for submitting official logos of Regional Parliamentary Political Parties (RPPPs) and Coalitions, as well as candidate photos for District Representatives and First Nominees for Sectoral Representatives. All submissions must be sent by May 7 via email to [email protected].

Come May 8, the Commission will initiate the filing period for Petitions for Accreditation aimed at determining the Dominant Majority Regional Parliamentary Political Party, Dominant Minority Regional Parliamentary Political Party, and Ten Major Regional Parliamentary Political Parties. The deadline for this is set for May 15.

On September 14, voters in the BPE will elect a total of 32 Bangsamoro District Representatives.
