Comelec Establishes Repair Hubs for ACMs in BARMM to Prevent Election Delays

Cotabato City: As part of measures to prevent balloting delays, the Commission on Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Comelec-BARMM) has established seven repair hubs in the region ahead of Monday's elections.

According to Philippines News Agency, this initiative serves as a precautionary measure to address any technical issues arising during the polls. BARMM election director, lawyer Ray Sumalipao, informed reporters about the setup on Saturday. The repair hubs for automated counting machines (ACMs) have been strategically located in Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur including Marawi City, Basilan including Lamitan City, Tawi-Tawi, Cotabato City, and the Special Geographic Area in North Cotabato.

Sumalipao noted that during the final testing and sealing conducted on Friday, only minor issues surfaced, which were promptly resolved. "Over 3,000 ACMs have been tested across the region and no major issues were noted," he said. He assured that the repair hubs would be ready to tackle any technical problems on election day.
