Construction of PHP960 Million Antique Capitol Building Progresses

Antique: The construction of the PHP960 million three-story capitol building of the provincial government of Antique is in full swing and is targeted for completion in September 2025. Provincial Engineer Inocencio Dajao Jr. reported that the project in Barangay Badiang, San Jose de Buenavista, has achieved a 30 percent accomplishment rate, with a minor slippage of 5 percent due to adverse weather conditions.

According to Philippines News Agency, the foundations, embankment, and structural steel of the new capitol building have already been completed. Once finished, the building will provide space for about 20 offices. The decision to construct a new capitol outside the congested business center of San Jose de Buenavista comes as the current building is 60 years old.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao has indicated that the 6.4-hectare lot acquired by the provincial government in Barangay Badiang is intended to serve as a one-stop shop. This new location will also accommodate other national government offices and the Hall of Justice.
