MANILA: Police officers arrested a 49-year-old suspected drug dealer and seized PHP9.6 million worth of marijuana in a sting operation in Valenzuela City on Friday. In a report, Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the suspect, alias "Rich", a resident of Baguio City was arrested during the operation outside a fast-food chain at the North Luzon Expressway Drive N' Dine in Barangay Canumay West at about 9 a.m. The suspect yielded some 80 kg. of dried marijuana leaves, a mobile phone, and three identification cards. The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to PDEG headquarters for documentation and proper disposition. "This operation reflects our unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety of our community," Matta added. Source: Philippines News Agency
