Quezon city: The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Wednesday said it has identified the plate number of the vehicle involved in the gas-and-run incident over the weekend. In a press briefing, Lt. Col. Bryan Angelo Pajarillo, chief of QCPD Police Station 15, revealed the vehicle was positively identified as a grayish-blue Toyota Vios (2023 model) bearing plate number CBK 7953.
According to Philippines News Agency, an unidentified male customer was involved, with ongoing coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and other concerned agencies to determine the driver at the time of the incident. Authorities plan to pursue appropriate charges once the driver's identity is confirmed.
Further verification indicated that the vehicle was purchased from Toyota Nueva Ecija and is registered under Toyota Financial Services Philippines Corporation, and leased to an individual identified as "Jherosalyn." Pajarillo noted that the registered address of Jherosalyn has been obtained, and operatives are on their way to the location to continue their investigation.
CCTV footage captured an unidentified man driving a blue sedan fueling up and leaving the gasoline station without paying at around 3:16 a.m. on Sunday, May 3. The attendant immediately reported the incident, prompting police to issue a flash alarm.
Pajarillo explained that their focus has been on forward-tracking. The vehicle was seen traveling along Congressional Avenue and entered the barangays within Project 6, where it circled around the area. Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to identify the suspect.
