Cotabate±os Express Satisfaction with President Marcos’ 4th SONA

Cotabato city: Residents here have expressed satisfaction with the issues discussed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).

According to Philippines News Agency, 46-year-old jeepney driver Anastacio Sibangon believes that the President's SONA addressed critical issues related to the government's campaign against corruption. Sibangon noted that the President's warning to contractors of public works is a clear message of his administration's determination to curb corruption in public projects.

Fish vendor Bai Lyn Acob expressed her contentment with the President's mention of the PHP20 per kg. rice program. She recalled that there was only one instance when the government sold rice at that price, and hopes the affordable rice program will continue.

School teacher Esmeralda Pinsoy was pleased with the President's mention of overtime pay for teachers. She also welcomed the promise of 400,000 new classrooms before the end of the President's term, considering it positive news for educators.

Another teacher, who requested anonymity, appreciated President Marcos' decision to avoid making tirades against political opponents. The teacher viewed the President's call for unity among political leaders as indicative of a reconciliatory approach rather than an aggressive stance.
