Manila: Tropical Storm Crising slightly intensified, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin on Friday. Crising was last tracked at 195 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, moving west-northwestward at 25 kph.
According to Philippines News Agency, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is hoisted over several regions including Batanes, Cagayan with the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, and parts of Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur. These areas are expected to experience strong winds. Meanwhile, TCWS No. 1 is in effect over Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and other parts of Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and parts of Pangasinan, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a gale warning over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon. Heavy rainfall is forecasted in several regions including Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, Isabela, Abra, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Aurora.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported that adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of at least 25 flights and the diversion of two. The affected flights include routes such as Manila to San Jose, Manila to Virac, and Manila to Tuguegarao, among others. Flights GAP 296 and DG 6055, both bound for Busuanga, were diverted back to Manila.
