DAVAO CITY: The Department of Agriculture (DA) 11 (Davao) handed over three delivery vehicles worth PHP5 million to Bansalan town, Davao del Sur on Monday, aimed at enhancing the "Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita" program. Marie Ann Constantino, DA-11 regional technical director for operations, emphasized that the vehicles were funded through the agency's Kadiwa Financial Grant Assistance Program. According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative is designed to improve food access and boost farmers' productivity and income through efficient transport. Constantino highlighted that the Kadiwa initiative directly connects food producers with consumers, reducing product costs by as much as 20 percent. This direct connection aims to uplift the lives of farmers by providing better opportunities to bring their produce to market, ensuring fair prices, and fostering stronger connections between producers and consumers. Vice Mayor Samuel Gadingan expressed his gratitude to DA-11 for the support, noting that the project would significantly aid local farmers. He also voiced hopes for continued support from the Department of Agriculture for the entire region. The initiative is part of DA's broader effort to empower farmers by improving market access and streamlining the transport of agricultural products.
