DA Western Visayas Launches Kadiwa Display Center to Boost Agribusiness Opportunities

Iloilo: The Department of Agriculture in Western Visayas (DA-6), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), has opened a Kadiwa Display Center (KDC) to serve as a venue to showcase regional products. DA-6 AMAD officer-in-charge May Ann Grajo emphasized the center's role in providing entrepreneurs with a platform to display their products, enhancing their potential for local and export markets.

According to Philippines News Agency, Grajo highlighted that the Kadiwa Display Center is designed to demonstrate the competitiveness of local products in terms of price and quality. The initiative aims to support farmers in transitioning to agribusiness by assisting in the development of packaging and labeling. This assistance is part of a broader effort to help entrepreneurs establish a legal identity and secure operational licenses.

The KDC aims to foster direct connections between buyers, investors, and sellers, creating business opportunities. Located on the ground floor of the DA-6 building, the center operates on weekdays. Grajo expressed a desire to institutionalize the center as a reliable resource for farmers.

During its opening, the center showcased over 50 products from Panay and Guimaras, contributed by participating organizations, the private sector, farmers, and fisherfolk. This initiative is part of the larger Kadiwa ng Pangulo Program, which seeks to provide farmers with direct market access while offering consumers fresh and affordable products.
