Davao City Completes 740 Infra Projects in 4 Years

Davao City: The City Engineer's Office (CEO) reported on Thursday that a total of 740 infrastructure projects have been completed across Davao City from 2020 to 2024. City Engineer Joseph Dominic Felizarta said the completed city-funded projects include roads, highways, bridges, irrigation systems, canals, laterals, public buildings, and other structures in both urban centers and remote areas.

According to Philippines News Agency, the CEO completed 150 projects in 2020, 162 in 2021, 125 in 2022, 146 in 2023, and 157 in 2024. Felizarta stated that these projects are spread all over the city, including far-flung barangays, to ensure equitable development.

Felizarta also noted that the city government is expediting the implementation of its 2025 infrastructure projects ahead of the election period to avoid delays due to the election ban on public works. He explained that while bidding is allowed, actual construction is prohibited during the period.

In addition, Felizarta said the city is prioritizing the development of key public service facilities, including a new sanitary landfill.
