Davao city: The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) confiscated illegal drugs worth PHP2.3 million during a series of operations conducted from August 10 to 16. DCPO acting chief Col. Mannan Muarip reported that 48 coordinated anti-illegal drug operations resulted in the arrest of 52 individuals during the period.
According to Philippines News Agency, the operations led to the seizure of 348.9 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP2.3 million, along with 1,582.6 grams of marijuana valued at PHP189,915. During the past week, DCPO also conducted 16 anti-illegal gambling operations, which resulted in the arrest of 18 gamblers, the seizure of PHP5,460 in bet money, and the filing of 16 cases.
Muarip added that 41 operations were conducted against wanted persons, with 22 individuals included on the most wanted list. Additionally, three incidents involving loose firearms led to the arrest of one suspect, confiscation of one firearm, the surrender of another firearm, and one firearm turned in for safekeeping. A case was also filed in connection with these incidents.
Muarip emphasized that 112 individuals were arrested for various offenses during the period. He reiterated DCPO's commitment to law enforcement while strictly adhering to human rights and police operational procedures.
