Davao: Police operatives in the Davao Region arrested 16 suspects and seized PHP4 million worth of illegal drugs in 15 operations carried out from 6 a.m. on Nov. 24 until 6 a.m. on Nov. 25, the regional police reported Tuesday. In a statement, Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao) Director, Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, said the operations led to the confiscation of 593.57 grams of suspected shabu and 3.53 grams of marijuana.
According to Philippines News Agency, Rosete said the achievement complies with Philippine National Police acting chief, Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.'s directive to strengthen and coordinate anti-drug efforts, especially against high-value targets. On Nov. 22, police also arrested alias Bong, the second most wanted at the regional level, during an operation in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. Authorities seized from him 169 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.1 million.
Rosete lauded the participating units for their smooth coordination, noting that the Davao Region stays fully committed to fighting illegal drugs and creating safer communities. 'The Davao Region is not a safe place to hide for those who evade arrest,' he said.
