Davao: Davao Region's inflation rate for the bottom 30 percent income households increased to 0.2 percent in November from -0.9 percent in October, the regional office of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA-11) reported Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the region's inflation was higher in November last year at 1.9 percent. The uptrend was due to the slower annual price decline in the index of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which shifted to -1.8 percent from -4.2 percent.

The faster price increases in several commodity groups also contributed to the rise in inflation. These groups included clothing and footwear, which rose to 2.8 percent from 2.5 percent; health, which increased to 6.4 percent from 6.2 percent; transport, which went up to 2.0 percent from 1.3 percent; information and communication, which climbed to 3.3 percent from 3.1 percent; and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services, which advanced to 4.2 percent from 3.9 percent.

Conversely, slower annual increments were observed in other commodity groups such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which decreased to 4.4 percent from 4.6 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which fell to 1.3 percent from 3.9 percent; recreation, sport, and culture, which slightly decreased to 6.4 percent from 6.5 percent; and restaurants and accommodation services, which were recorded at 3.1 percent and 4.1 percent.

The commodity groups of furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance stayed at 3.4 percent, education services remained at 3.2 percent, and financial services held steady at 0.0 percent, retaining their previous month's inflation rate.

On the other hand, food inflation for the bottom 30 percent of income households at the regional level posted a slower price decline of -2.2 percent in November 2025, down from -4.7 percent in the previous month. In November 2024, the food inflation was higher at 1.7 percent.
