Davao Oriental Seeks P2.1-B for 2026 Agri-Budget

Davao Oriental: The Davao Oriental provincial government announced its submission of a PHP2.1 billion agricultural budget proposal for 2026. The proposal aims to enhance agricultural practices and boost production across the province.

According to Philippines News Agency, the provincial government intends for the 2026 agri-budget proposal to promote sustainable technology, significantly improve crop, livestock, and fisheries production, and establish modern livestock centers. The proposal also includes comprehensive plans to enhance the agricultural market system and provide increased support such as capacity-building and financial assistance to farmers and fishers.

Governor Ni±o Uy emphasized the importance of strong governance in maintaining Davao Oriental's leadership in agriculture. He stated that the provincial government and stakeholders will work together to support the well-being and success of residents. Uy also expressed gratitude to farmers and fisherfolk for their hard work and assured continued support to meet the sector's evolving needs.
